I'm General Bill Martin.
I am a leadership strategist and executive coach.
I help leaders achieve better business results and accelerate their career growth by learning how to bring out the very best in those around them. I am retired US Army Officer and have been coaching, assessing, advising CEOs and leaders around the globe for over 20 years.
I was lucky to begin my leadership journey with the world's best organization at developing leaders - the US Military. After serving several tours of duty and working for some of the military's most accomplished leaders, I was ultimately appointed New York’s Deputy Adjutant General, overseeing a 24,000-member military organization with a budget over $400 million.
20 years ago, I left the military and started The Initiatives Group. Synthesizing the leadership philosophies and techniques from the US Army and adapting them to the world of modern business, my team and I have transformed countless companies and the lives of many leaders. I have been extremely fortunate to work with many Fortune 500 companies and speak on leadership at West Point, Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business, and NYU’s Stern School of Business.
